I guess I’m one to push the envelope, especially of large traditional institutions like the United Methodist Church. I forgot that a large part of the Disciple Bible Study are the tapes that are watched at the beginning of each session. Not having those tapes would take a lot away from the class.
I urged my pastor friend to move toward setting up video cam software that would allow the transmission of the video across the web and give a lot of people access to these lessons that can’t get to a physical meeting.
Instead Rick pointed me toward an online Bible Study at http://www.fumcdal.org/studies/ which is very good but I have been remiss in my daily devotion to it. I will do better.
I have been working on another project that has already made huge amounts of change in my life, even though I’m failing at it miserably. But has caused a lot of love in my life. If I ever get good at this discipline the rewards will be amazing. It is not a secret, but I will post more about it in a separate post. For more information, check out Frank Laubach on Google.

I’m 100% Southern and consider that to be a good thing. I’m sorry for the people that don’t understand.
I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi where I went to Jim Hill High School and Millsaps College. I worked several jobs while going to college but most often could be found behind the counter at good old “Speed-E Food.” One of the most fun jobs I ever had, because of the people that lived in South Jackson.
After college, I went to work for the IRS as a Revenue Agent. I loved it and I was good at it but my health fell apart. I had to take a position of as a Functional Automation Coordinator, which was fancy Government speak for Computer Analyst.
I finally came to my senses. Decided working wasn’t a good idea for me and applied for disability. It was granted. As soon as I was shed of my responsibilities in the states, I flew to the Philippines to find out what was out there.
What I found here has been awesome, its not perfect here but I have much more of a life here than I could have in the USA. It is just too costly to live in the US for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love the USA. I miss it too. I wonder what it will feel like when I get back.
