Guilt is the thing that most often separates me from God.
What do we feel guilty about in regard to God? That would be morality.
What is moral? Are you sure you know? I don’t think a lot of what I’ve been taught is morality and what is sin is that at all.
Jesus didn’t seem to be consumed with it. Yet some of the apostles did and we are told they speak and write with authority from God.
Jesus gave us one rule, to love your neighbor as you love yourself. Sometimes greed makes it hard to do that, so greed is a sin or it can be. Anything can be if we are using others. If you are putting yourself first then that is a sin. It breaks the one rule Jesus gave us. It is a simple rule but when you really think about it, it is a very hard rule.
One thing I have to do is not allow guilt to separate me from believing that God still wants me based on what man tells me is right and wrong. That is exactly what has happened in the past. Also though rather than argue with someone, which I’m always inclined to do, I need to listen and apply my rules to what is going on. Realize that person may be trying to help me or at least think they are. II don’t have to correct everyone and if I don’t win an argument that I never undertake, it doesn’t mean they are right. I hope this is not too convoluted for anyone to understand. But I’m writing this about me so it is okay. This is not about you it is about me.
The thing to do is to talk to God about my questions and ask Him to guide me. Just talk to God. Talking to God implies a conversation. That means I need to listen. It is okay to talk to God about things that are bothering me without asking him to fix them. It is even okay to ask him to fix them. But what is most important it is to talk to God about things on my mind. Just as I would love for my children to tell me what is going on in their life.
However, comments are welcome and even sought.

Rusty,
First let me thank you for your insihts to the Filipino people and culture. I have spent some time in that maganda country and have come to love everything about it and its quirks! I am anticipating a move to take on a new position in Cebu City, and my girlfriend (a lovely Filipina) came across your website. I have spent a few dys now enjoying its content, and look forward to updates.
Your articles on faith are right on, this article in particular spoke right to me. Although you say it is all about you, it has a universal appeal to anyone interested enough to read it. It afforded me the opportunity to reflect on some of m own faith issues, and drove home a very important fact…Talk to God about everything.
Thanks for sharing your world!
