Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

I have lupus, probably have had it all my life. For a while I let it rule my life, I let it define me. I refuse to do that any longer. And if it kills me because I wont, then it just does.

I will write much more about lupus in the near future. For now I’ll just tell you it is a disease where the immune system become confused. It mistakes your own tissue as a foreign substance and attacks your own tissue. It can range from deadly to mild. In most cases it is in the middle. For some, it does control their life and there is no amount of will power that will change that.

I think I let the fear of it control my life and that is what I will no longer do. I’m going exploring!
