Change Has Come To The World

As I watch Obama’s critics go after him for not being tough enough of Iran, I wonder am I really the only one that understand how much of a role Obama played in this?  I don’t think I’m alone, I think others see it too.

One of the first things Obama did was reach out to the Muslim world.  The first interview he gave was to a

reporter from the middle east.  He immediately started reaching out to people that have basically become our enemies or something very close to our enemies.

Then about a week before the elections in Iran, he goes to the middle east and gives a convincing speech about why the USA is not at war with Islam nor do we need to be.  And someone in the audience called out “we love you Obama” after he quoted the Koran.

I think with a less military offensive USA, the Iranians were far less likely to fear us. I think this helped the movement in Iran, especially among the women who are generally less likely to be pro war. The Iranian authorities have tried to blame the US  and Great Britain.  I think that Obama’s reaching out helped to get out the vote.  It helped the rallies before the election and it has helped spur the early protest in the street.  The Iranian government’s reaction to those protest though have been the main catalyst for the continued protesting.

There are signs in Iran displaying “Change is Coming.”  More important though is that Obama has reached out and this has  help set an atmosphere where the world of Islam does not fear us as they have in the past.   Obama has reached out with understanding and compassion and said we can work together.  What a radical idea!  I’m being sarcastic, its back to the basics and good old core American values.
