Filipino Do Get Sun Burns!

Jessie has told me over the lasts couple of days that she was red on her back and face.  I however, could see only beautiful brown skin.  Today she Jessie Tristan's Bantayan Island.walked up to me and told me to look and I saw the marks on her face.

I  thought she had some kind of horrible rash.   Then she said its peeling skin from her sunburn.  That really surprised me!  Of course, being a girl she knows how to hide it but I think she only washed it away.  Jessie wears almost no make up.

I asked her how long it had been since she had had a sunburn and she said since she was a child.  I thought perhaps she had never had one.  She explained she used to go to the beach every Sunday.  She told me the other day her dad LOVES to swim.  So I asked if her dad use to take them and she said he did.

Many Filipino children grow up like they are part fish.  :)  I think she will likely wear sun screen when we go to Bantayan Island next time.  She had already mentioned she would.

Since she got burned, can you imagine what would have happened to me if I had not worn sun screen.  I’m so white, I’d scare a ghost.   I put more sun screen on every four hours as best as I could.

I’m busy working on my pictures today.  I still have over 150 to process.  It takes a long time.  I’m thinking about putting a donations link on my site.  I have mixed feelings on that though.   I’m trying to actually make money on my sites so I’m not sure its the right thing to do.  The time it takes to post the pictures is the main reason I’m thinking of doing so but if I do, it will remain totally voluntary.
