Philippine Expat Webmasters Working Together

About a month ago, Bob Martin, web developer of Live In The Philippines.com and several other sites, left a comment on the site and sent me an email.  I noticed his email address was that of a Philippine province dot com which immediately got my attention.  I thought it must have been some kind of shared domain but he actually owned it.  Which told me he’d been around for a while and grabbed up a lot of the better domains.

We struck up a conversation and within a day or two he asked if I would consider contributing to his blog at least once a week.  After taking a quick look at his blog, I had no doubt the answer was yes.  Was honored that he asked.  Now I understand why he asked, he wants me to add content to his site.  That’s okay, he’s offering me traffic from his site back to mine and links, quality links back to my sites.

My column on Live In The Philippines can be found here. As I write this article I have published three articles on that site.  There is another article waiting to be published.  They will generally come out a week apart but it also depends on how many articles are pending release when my articles are submitted.

I highly recommend the site, there is a lot of information and several guest bloggers like myself.  This variety provides more than one view point.  There’s more information on the blog than I can read, mostly because I’m writing very long post much of the time.  Takes a lot of time to develop 1000 to 2000 word articles.

I can only hope I’m not boring people with my long post.  I’d love some feed back on that, should I make my articles shorter?  I don’t know if I can do it but I can listen.  I’m kind of a deep, thoughtful and wordy guy.  :)

Yea I know, I’m far from a perfect writer, boy am I far from that but the ideas do spew out of me faster than I can write them down.  Don’t they have a drug for that?

Anyway, if you’re an Expat, especially in the Davao area or thinking about becoming an expat there is a lot of good information for you.

This working together is the more intelligent way to do things.  I know some webmaster that wish to try to protect the expat turf as if they own the dang Internet.  You can work with other webmasters and create a win-win situation or you can push people away. One thing is for certain, you’re not going to keep them offline, you might as well work with them.

Thanks Bob for the invite.  I’m very honored and it is my pleasure to work with and learn from you.
