Just a short note.
I just stepped off the Cebu City Long Distance Roller Coaster and am back home in Bogo City. Trying to cool off and rest. I’m itching head to toe. These detergents here are just not setting right with me, either that or I’m allergic to my own sweat!
The buses almost always leave one feeling pretty grungy. Speeds of 110Km per hour with the windows down and the back of a diesel powered iron hoarse will fling a little dust up into the air! Much of this dust seems to come back in the bus and swirl around in there for a bit.
I drenched off with a quick shower and am now trying to settle down my nerves. The buses don’t really scare me too much any more. Well at least all of the time. Most manage to give me a fright once or twice during a trip but not sheer terror the entire trip. :) I’ve learned, I can’t do anything about the driving so its best to just ignore it. Bus trip is about six dollars for both Jessie and myself, could get a taxi but that would go for around $50 to $150. That would be darn cheap in US standards for about an 80 mile trip but I don’t live under American standards any more.
I’ll get caught up with comments soon, might be tomorrow when I can almost think straight again.

HELLO JUST COME ON LINE RECENTLY AND WAS JUST WONDERING IF YOU COULD TELL ME HOW LIFE IS IN CEBU CITY !!!! IF AN AMERICAN HAS $985.00 COMING IN PER MONTH COULD HE SURVIVE IN CEBU CITY ????? I HAVE FOUND A GIRLFRIEND IN ESPERANZA THAT WILL BE MOVING TO CEBU IN OCTOBER AND I AM PLANNING ON BEING THERE IN NOVEMBER !!!! PLEASE ADVISE IF YOU WILL !!!!
You can get by on that, especially if there are no children involved.
You wont have a lot left over but you can do it.
If you can find a place outside of the City, you’ll pay less in rent.
It has a lot to do with your needs.
