Tailor Made Clothes In The Philippines
I have had a fruitful three days. A couple of days ago went to the dress maker to get another shirt made. I think I’ll get yet another this week. Festival is coming to Bogo Town and they told us they wouldn’t be taking any more orders after the 22nd. I wanted to get two more made next month but I suppose I’ll just have to do one more this month.
Pets In The Philippines
Yesterday, Jessie and I went on a long walk, 2.2 miles with Juliet, my Philippine Monkey. it seemed to really pick her spirits up. Being so confined, I think she gets bored out of her mind. But that’s going to be better for her now. Her big cage came in today. Its not exactly what I ordered but seems what I ordered didn’t get ordered. I’m quite concerned how I’m going to get her out of it. I’m afraid she will end up getting away but I will do my best to make sure that doesn’t happen. I was expecting a cage that I could get into but I didn’t get that. The door is not big enough and I don’t think its strong enough. Its also at least a foot shorter than what I expected. The welder didn’t get clear instructions. Hard for me to communicate because I can’t speak the language. Its a nice cage otherwise. My only concern is getting her out.
Bonsai Tree
The same day we ordered the shirt, we walked up the hill to visit with the bonsai master. Jessie got another bonsai tree so now we have five. I think he’s going to give her a crab apple bonsai as well which is very cool indeed. He told Jessie he just cuts a limb off a tree and it grows! I’ve done that millions of times when I was a kid, but only one grew and we pulled that up to check to see if it was really growing. It was and it died as a result of my curiosity.
Day to Day Expat Style Living
Walked about a mile and half that day but with all the stops, my pedometer didn’t register any aerobic time. I got lots though because he lives on a big hill or you might say a small mountain. Sure feels like a mountain when I walk up it. Jessie commented it is much easier coming down. The two prior days were very hot. Today is not so bad but the humidity is higher. Its down to 28C at 6:30 that’s really cool compared to what it has been. That would be about 80F but remember the humidity is probably around 75%!
I also walked about 1.5 miles today with about 36 minutes aerobic time registered by my pedometer. It really isn’t a good estimate of aerobic time because it doesn’t measure hills. If I stop to take a picture, it might stop counting the aerobic time but I don’t stop sweating and my heart is still pounding.
I think that is the major events of the last couple of days, well if you could call them major. Oh yeah, I did get a new camera. It takes much clearer and detailed pictures. I’m way behind in my picture posting. Its hard to get out there and be active to find pictures to take and then also have time to get them on the site!
Life is good! I’m still holding off the 10 pounds plus added one so down 11. I haven’t changed that much and it just started coming off. That’s the way I always do. I had a hard time staying awake today. I nearly talked myself out of walking but then forced it and glad I did. Still a little sleepy though.

This is just a test comment, I’ll probably just delete it. I moved some of my own comments into spam as I didn’t wnat to delete them, but wanted to get rid of them.
I seem to headed back to my vampire like life style. That is staying up all night. Most of my life I have found it easier to work and play in the wee hours of the night or morning.
Here it is 12:44 AM and I’m wide awake. I guess I’ll turn this computer off, take a second Xanax and knock myself out.
I’m hoping to visit San Remigio beach club and the church there tomorrow or the next day and I need to be up early and sleeping late will not fit in with my plans.
My email is back. I’ve sent it to you.
Rusty, do you own a video camera? Few days ago, while it was quiet in the ward, I was browsing on Phil. beaches. Found this site showing Phil. beaches on video camera. It was really good, lifelike because you can see the waves lapping on the shore. Very effective.
Terry, they showed Bohol beaches and landscape. It was very nice. I’ll try and find that site again and post the link here.
If it’s one of Paul’s sites don’t post it. Anything else is okay.
I do have a video camera but I’m out of video tape and my computer is too slow to edit the video. No way to import it to jessie’s machine. :(
I have a four tapes of life in the Philippines. I’ll get it on here one of these days.
I posted a message on CEX with a short video of the waves. From my phone so its quality is not that great.
No, I checked it out. They are really nice shots. There’s a lot of them if you Google Bohol. Some are not good quality, too jerky, too fast, some blurry, some simply concentrated on beaches. The ones I’ve chosen showed a lot about Bohol. You might get interested and decide to live there too! :)
I think I will treat myself to a new video camera for my next trip. I hadn’t bothered before, but I think it will be worth getting a new one for my next holiday.
So, you have your shirts made at the tailor? How cool…I would love to have someone make my clothes. I know, shallow but what can I say. What kind of shirts? Material? I need details. Again, shallow but…
Yeah, I’ve been meaning to write an article about that for some time.
If you really want your clothes made, I can arriagne that. I plan to start a business doing just that.
Or maybe Jessie will do it cause what woman wants to provide me with her measurements to that detail.
I haven’t fully worked out the material details yet. I have to buy a yard to get a sample as it stands now. Of course, I can’t do that for each type of material I want to offer.
I have had five shirts made now but three are still “under construction.” One was made from wool or choudary, At least, that’s what the sign hanging over the material indicates. I thought it would be too hot but its not. Its very nice material but was more expensive too. So I’ve gone for the cheaper materials since then. Probably some kind of blended stuff. Has a nice texture. I’ll model them all for you soon, how’s that. LOL But I can get cotton, probably anything else.
Since its for me, I just picked out what I liked and didn’t worry about what it was made of. I’ve only had polo shirts made so far.
What do you want made, what kind of materail and I’ll tell you what I need from you to make it happen.
I didn’t realize the cage was so big. How long does she stay in there? Does she have toys? She runs around the house when you are right? I am just full of questions…
No, she doesn’t run around the house, if she did she would escape. Our home has 20 foot, maybe 16 foot ceilings in many places and that just can’t be air conditioned on my budget or perhaps the budget of the US Pentagon. LOL Windows are always open.
She’s wild except when with me, she can’t be allowed to roam freely. She would destroy everything in site. The chew, pull apart shred anything they can get their hands on. I try to spend an hour a day cuddling with her. I take her on my walks which and hour or two. When its not too hot, I sit on the porch at night with her for a bit.
It woudl be much better for her if she could be released but I don’t think that’s possible now. She’s got a bad leg, I don’t know what is up with it but it often hurts her. We give her a good bit of aspirin for that.
When she’s in the cage she doesn’t have a chain/leash on her and that helps her to heal. She’s been on one too much and there are scars and she has pain there too. She loves for that area to be rubbed.
She has a couple of toys, we need much more. She needs a different toy every day. Say changed out over a week time. They grow board with things fast.
This is not ideal for her but it is a major improvement over her prior life.
Its scary to think of her running loose in the home all the time. i would also have to move, which really would be okay with me. My landlord is a problem but the house is large…
