Bantayan Island is Awesome
I haven’t posted for a few days cause I was having a wonderful time playing in sugar white sand. It was just awesome. I have over 100 new pictures, it may be 200 new pictures.
I didn’t tell anyone I was going, because of security concerns. Probably not wise to tell everyone in Cebu when I’ll be out of town overnight. Sorry for the lack of posting.
When you leave an island and you go to another island that is surrounded by more Islands and hardly any other tourist are there, well, that’s paradise.
The water came up to our hotel and if we had gotten there on time, it would have been lapping at our steps. Most of the “floor” of the hotel was sand! The restaurant and our rooms had normal floors. The water didn’t need to be heated as it was wonderful.
I don’t know why it took so long to go. It started out as a day trip but then we decided to stay overnight. The trip cost us about $100. Eating is what cost us the most, by far.
The boat ride over there was about $3.20 and a little less on the way back. The $3.20 was on a boat that had first class. We came back on a Ro-Ro which means roll on and roll off. Its how you get your car, truck or whatever to or from Cebu Island to Bantayan.
We met a couple of guys bending over backwards to make our stay easier and to guide us through. I’ll be talking more about them later.
I rented a motor bike, scared myself to death on it. Think I scared the owner too but I did okay, no blood. Not even a crash. Though I got concerned once. Getting throttle up and throttle down backwards can be an eye opener. :)
We gotta figure out a way to eat cheaper, I really shouldn’t be blowing that kind of money just yet. Its not like a fortune and I have no regrets. Chances are good, I’ll be going twice next month!
Right now, my favorite place in the world is Bantayan Island!

Hi Rusty – It sounds like you had a blast! I am glad that you enjoyed yourself.
I’ve heard Bantaya Island is gorgeous. My cousin took his GF there last December. I hope to take my kids when we go back to PI. Any problems with waves? My daughter does not like them. I wanted to take them to Camotes Island last year. I spent a few weeks in Camotes before moving to Manila and I had the time of my life. My daughter asked how we’re gonna get to Camotes and I pointed out one of the boats docked in Danao and she said “I don’t think so”.
Awwww that’s a horrible phobia to have.
There are waves. Nothing awful though.
Didn’t make me sick or anyone else.
