I experienced my first typhoon. Typhoon Frank (internationally named Typhoon Fengshen) came blowing through just over a week ago. It was pretty amazing. I’m really glad the eye didn’t get as close as i was predicted too. The storm became a category two over the Philippines.
Typhoon Frank was a killer and very unpredictable. This storm just didn’t go where it was suppose to go. No, this lady had a mind of her own and she was a “Woman of Mass Destruction.” Unfortunately she took a lot of lives too. The death toll could rise to over 1300.
I’ve posted a series of articles about this typhoon at my other site which is dedicated to my experience while living in Cebu. Never thought I’d be an expatriate, Oh I still love the USA but I love the Philippines too. Check out my site at http://www.cebuexperience.com

I’m 100% Southern and consider that to be a good thing. I’m sorry for the people that don’t understand.
I grew up in Jackson, Mississippi where I went to Jim Hill High School and Millsaps College. I worked several jobs while going to college but most often could be found behind the counter at good old “Speed-E Food.” One of the most fun jobs I ever had, because of the people that lived in South Jackson.
After college, I went to work for the IRS as a Revenue Agent. I loved it and I was good at it but my health fell apart. I had to take a position of as a Functional Automation Coordinator, which was fancy Government speak for Computer Analyst.
I finally came to my senses. Decided working wasn’t a good idea for me and applied for disability. It was granted. As soon as I was shed of my responsibilities in the states, I flew to the Philippines to find out what was out there.
What I found here has been awesome, its not perfect here but I have much more of a life here than I could have in the USA. It is just too costly to live in the US for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love the USA. I miss it too. I wonder what it will feel like when I get back.
