Direction of This Blog

When the elections where going this blog was booming.  I love politics.  I love to watch it and watch the power struggles and see how the chess game unfolds.  It goes much further than government, it’s about civilization.  I have a long history of being concerned about a majority imposing its will on the minority.  An often unjust and short sighted will.

When we set a precedent by majority alone, we don’t see how another majority could take away what the majority wanted in the first place.  This idea of majority rules is a fallacy.  That’s not what our country is about.  It is about protecting the rights of everyone as all men are created equal.  You shouldn’t be imposing your values on me.

What I or you do should not be sanctioned by the government.  The movies I watch or the books I read.  Many people call me a democrat.  I’m not.  I’m just pretty much anti-republican.  That started when I watched Ed Meese send a letter on official government stationary to Southland corporation threatening action by the government if they didn’t stop selling Playboy in their 7-11 stores.

I am still angry over that and I just don’t get why the American people seemed to care so little about it, especially at the time.   This so anti-American, it strikes at the core of our outspoken non-conformist nature.  This was a defining moment for me.  It caused me to regret my vote for Regan..  I was no longer a Reganite.

There are many more situations since then that have brought the same kind of concerns for me.  Almost always brought on by republicans.  I’ll say it again, if we legislate Christianity, we set the precedent so that if Islam or Voodoo becomes the majority, there will be legislation to impose that on you.  Is that what you really want?

Self Absorbed

I was amused the other day, someone came to my website, bearing my name, a website about me and told me I was self-absorbed  Well duh, it’s a blog about me.  What am I suppose to write about, you?  Of course I’m self-absorbed on RustyFerguson.Com.  I guess he thought he was going to hurt me.   Sorry Gordy, not even close man.  You’re welcome to bash me on my website, I found it to be funny.  I meant what I said too, “i love you and there’s not a darn thing you can do about it.”

Visits to this website has gone way down since the peek interest in the recession and the elections has passed but I continue to write about them.  Since traffic is important to me.  Since I’m not trying to make money selling advertising, I need my traffic to come back..

The problem is economics and politics are very interesting to me.  Its what I most often have to write about.  What I’m going to do is build a political and financial website.   It is just to hard to separate the two.

Philippine Living

If I do that, what am I going to write about here?  Well, I probably wont be writing on this site as often as I do now.  Some people have told me they want to read about my life here in the Philippines.  I have two other sites dedicated to those issues.  They are:

That does not mean I will stop writing about my life here in the Philippines.  I will, especially when it is an issue related to growth.

Google  and Duplicate Content Penalty?

Now to figure out what domain I’m going to buy for politics.  Maybe i-am-a-gun-toting-liberal-Christian.com  LOL  I was always kind of surprised that this site was getting so much traffic.  I never thought it would and now it is not.  There is a good possibility though that there are other reason that my visitor level may have changed  It has to do with Google though and I’m not going to get into that in this article.  Now that I think about it, I think that is what is causing the reduction in visitors to this site.

In any case, I’m going to make a new blog site for my political and economic musings.  What I’m going to write about here, I don’t know.  This site may become like a traffic cop, pointing people to my other websites and post a lot of things more about me.  A journal  of my life.  Only problem with that is, if something happens to me and no one will pay the bill, the site will go away.  For that reason I think it is best to put those kinds of sites on a free website.  One that will last even once your gone.
