Typhoon did some butt kicking along our little fishing community in Northern Cebu Philippines on Friday night. Took out our power a couple of times and took it out for good around 5:30pm on Friday. Just came back on today. Forty eight hours of no power, no fan and no AC is more than my tired old American body can really enjoy.
I’ll be posting more about this at http://www.cebuexperiernce.com but just wanted to let everyone know why I’ve not got to your questions yet.
In the Philippines it was called Typhoon Frank. I don’t know why they feel the need to change the name from what the rest of the word calls it. I think the Japanese gave the storm the name of Fengshen. The Philippines were once occupied by the Japanese. Hard to say if the US would do the same, it might. I don’t know that is the reason for renaming it though.
