Philippine Photos for December 2008

Another month and more pictures. This month I am publishing 92 pictures. I’ve decided to display them a bit different. I hope they are just as enjoyable in this format.

Some of my favorite pictures of the month are of every day things, the flowers, the food, and the people.

One day while walking, we stumbled upon this scene.  It is called lechon and is a Filipino favorite and often the centerpiece of a family get together.   Instead of turkey, Filipino would likely serve lechon or as I refer to it pig on a stick.

When exploring the Philippines, you’ll find many pictures of twin hearts of Jesus and Mary.   This is usually found on married couples walkway, doorway, driveway or other such entrance way.  This also has rosary beads around the painting.

The idea behind the twin hearts is the goal of following Jesus so closely that your heart is in sync with his.

My favorite picture of  flowers is hard for me this month.  But I think I’ll have to choose this one:

These wild flowers are growing along a highway.  They are completely wild, there are not in front of a home, there is basically jungle behind them.  It is an undeveloped area.  A family can often be seen guiding their cattle to grazing locations near this area.  Bush may be a better word than jungle.  Whatever you call it, its too thick to easily walk through.
