Poison Ivy is Organic Too
I have been thinking about writing my thoughts on global warming for sometime. Don’t know why but the thought that poison ivy is organic popped into my head the other day. The two are related, I think. Certainly both are over blown. Clearly because something is organic does not make it good for you. Eat some poison ivy if you doubt me!
Is global warming real? Yeah, of course it is! So you can find a scientist that says its not. So what!
Is Global Warming Overblown?
Well yeah, duh. I read something a few months before the global warming scandal broke that made it completely clear that the people in charge of promoting it at the UN were full of beans. I wish I could remember what. It was some insane thing they were blaming on global warming. That it is overblown make it false? Well no, duh!
In the Philippines, I often see things blamed on global warming. My favorite is the increase in dengue. Hey the World Health Organization said global warming would have an effect on disease. So when there is an increase in dengue (I believe is a form of encephilitis) it gets blamed on global warming. There is almost no spraying for mosquitoes, I’ve seen it once in the last two years and I wonder if I imagined that. :)
Has global warming been commercialized too? Yes, but does that make it untrue? Has Christmas been commercialized? Does that mean Christ was never born? Heck, even Elton John believes Christ was born as do most scientist. I’m willing to bet, I could find a group of scientist that would say he was never born.
If you believe that global warming doesn’t exist, then you just have your head up your ass. If you believe man is not making the problem unsustainable, your head is still firmly planted in a dark place. Awww don’t get yourself offended, sometimes my head is there too. Is the problem as dire as Al Gore says? I don’t know, maybe. A little time spent learning about the melt taking place on the South Pole and the effect that has on ocean currents and temperatures should be a real eye opener.
I’ve seen people decide from the outset that global warming is not true. It took me a while to come around. In the 70′s we had the aerosol can scare, it was burning a hole in the atmosphere. Many of those type of products were banned. Seemed like a hoax as it moved forward, but was it, or was it an early warning. I now think it was an early warning.
I don’t know how serious the threat is. Most of you don’t either. I just don’t have enough information, God does but last time I checked, you’re not God. Your knowledge could be as incomplete as mine. Until we do know, I think the reasonable thing to do would be to follow what most scientist believe. I wouldn’t take it hook, line and sinker but I would buy florescent light bulbs and do what I could to lessen my carbon foot print. Especially where it saves me money to do so.

Get
To The Philippines Faster
Rusty, I’ve been traveling to Bogo since 1996 and have had only one bad experience in all those years! That was near Daanbantayan actually.
We are starting a house in Cayang, Bogo next year and should be over there in Nov 2011. We were there for a month in April/May 2010 to get things started.
Maybe we’ll run into each other a Jolibee :)

Hi Rusty; Yes where have you been? I always checked for your news, then gave up for some time. I was in Bogo City several times last winter & asked around for you, Nobody knew. You certainly did pick a great place, & just a hop to Bantayan Island. I look forward to hearing more from you & your interesting reports & subjects. Where are you hiding there? I,ll have another look next winter. It would be interesting to meet you & your family, monkey & all. The fellows there said you shouldn’t be that hard to spot, with a monkey on your head, or shoulder, or back (ha)! Good you are still there. I thought you might be one of the ones Bob talks about that Pulled The Plug! & went home. Guy
The expats wont know me.
Most sit around and drink and complain all day.
Not my thing.
But if you ask Filipino, most will know me, if not by name, the monkey man. ;0
