Palin Abused Power & Broke The Law!
A bipartisan panel in Alaska voted 12 to 0 to release the findings of its investigation into the controversy surrounding Sarah Palin involving her former brother-in-law. It has been alleged that Sarah Palin fired her Public Safety Commissioner when he refused to fire her former brother-in-law. The brother-in-law was a state trooper and in the process of divorcing Palin’s sister. While firing is not illegal, as she can fire him for anything as he is a political appointment. However, the report found that Palin’s pressuring of the commissioner to fire her brother-in-law broke the law.
The Wall Street Journal is reporting:
The report, by investigator Stephen Branchflower, was a potential setback to Sen. McCain’s lagging presidential campaign. It was released late Friday in Anchorage by the state legislative panel that commissioned it. The bipartisan panel, with two members absent, voted 12-0 to release the findings to the public.
If John McCain was the man he use to be, he’d remove Sarah Palin from his ticket and let the chips fall where they may.
McCain Spin
The McCain campaign released this unbelievable statement on its website.
…illustrates what we’ve known all along: this was a partisan led inquiry run by Obama supporters.” The statement added: “Lacking evidence to support the original Monegan allegation, the Legislative Council seriously overreached, making a tortured argument to find fault without basis in law or fact.
Obama Supporters? This investigation has been going on longer than Obama even knew “that persons” name! They tried to tie this to Obama? That just destroys this for me. In the future, I will discount virtually anything McCain has to say, especially if it comes from his campaign.
Overreached? You have to be kidding me. It is directly related to her job and is part of the investigation. Where was McCain when the White Water investigation ended up in President’ Clinton’s trousers! I have tried to find if McCain ever took exception with the conviction of Sooter Libby. Many republicans did so as the conviction was overreaching according to the right. If someone finds that PLEASE post a comment and its location.
Palin’s spokesman said that the commissions report vindicated her because their finding that she broke the law was speculation. Palin herself refused to be interviewed during the investigation.
This is the cronism that current President Bush is so famous for and which has damaged his presidency so substantially.
And John McCain, regain the respect you once deserved and fire this woman before she is elected along with you. She’s not qualified and she’s corrupt. You’ve been trying to claim that Obama has bad judgment for being on a board with Ayers and you picked this woman? You’ve tried to make Obama seem corrupt and dangerous and your running mate is corrupt. And you were the one found guilty of bad judgment regarding the Keating 5.
We’ve all been guilty of bad judgment. Drop it all ready.

I cannot wait for this election to be over, over, OVER!
I only hope two things:
1. Obama wins by a very comfortable margin, if not landslide (thus, a real “mandate”), and
2. Republicans TRY to relax and either help or just sit out. I do NOT want to see what Republicans did the day after Gov Gray Davis won re-election 47% to Simon’s 42% … immediately start doing everything and anything they can to undermine progress.
Congress has been a mess for the past years, Dems not excluded. But, let them have a chance to make things happen. If they screw it up, then maybe we’ll have a memory longer than a few weeks and start considering the benefits of more than two parties in the political system.
Both parties are guilty of that. The Republicans have been whining for the last eight years at the slow pace judges were confirmed. Problme is, the Republicans did it to Clinton. It is almost childish but how else do the parties show that both sides can play at that game.
