Saints Peter and Paul Church at Bantayan Island
As many of you know, I try to visit and photograph one church in the Philippines each month. Last month I went to the nearly 500 year old church on Bantayan Island.
The church and island has some interesting history but I’m not going to repeat that here. If you’d like to see the pictures and read what I learned about it please visit
Bantayan Island is becoming my favorite place in the Philippines. I wish I was there now!

Stalked!
I’m Being Stalked!
If I were in the states, I would already be at the police station. There is a woman here in town that I met online several years ago in a video chat room. I know her name but I’m not going to say it. Mostly I don’t want her to do a search and then find her name on my site. Also, I don’t want to insult a Filipino or say something that could be interpreted as an insult. She may already know this site but I doubt it or she could spell my name correctly.
When I found out she was in the same city I live in, I had a sick feeling.

Only in the Philippines- uniquely Pinoy
I hate insomnia! I have suffered insomnia for years, and caffeine has nothing to do with it whatsoever. I can go on for days without caffeine and still only get 3-4 hours broken sleep at best. I thought I’d cured my insomnia because in the last 4 weeks, I had been sleeping well without the aid of sleeping pills. Then since last Monday, my insomnia is back with a vengeance. I used to watch dvd movies when I’m awake at 1:00 am, or browse at Ebay and break my bank account before day break. These days I prowl between LIP ‘n LIC forums or write draft articles for Rusty. Much healthier for my bank balance -LOL!
I was prowling on Bob’s LIP forum yesterday and had a good laugh at (Pommie) John Grant’s “You know you are Filipino if…” article. So I remembered I actually found and saved an article written by another Pommie, Matthew Sutherland, a journalist based in the Philippines. I don’t know if he still is?

Walking In The Philippines
Hat In The Drink
Went for a walk a couple of days ago. Saw some kids hanging from a rope and thought what a great picture. One of the kids showing off nearly fell off the rope and into the water.
That caused me to forget my new $2.00 hat was on the verge of blowing off. It i a cool hat, I call it a Crocodile Dundee hat. As soon as I forgot, I pointed my hat in the wrong direction and instead of the child in the drink, my hat was. Did not even make it home with it before it was lying there in the water and sinking fast.

Sun Burned Filipina
Filipino Do Get Sun Burns!
Jessie has told me over the lasts couple of days that she was red on her back and face. I however, could see only beautiful brown skin. Today she walked up to me and told me to look and I saw the marks on her face.
I thought she had a some kind of horrible rash. Then she said its peeling skin from her sunburn. That really surprised me! Of course, being a girl she knows how to hide it but I think she only washed it away. Jessie wears almost no make up.
