When the elections where going this blog was booming. I love politics. I love to watch it and watch the power struggles and see how the chess game unfolds. It goes much further than government, it’s about civilization. I have a long history of being concerned about a majority imposing its will on the minority. An often unjust and short sighted will.

When we set a precedent by majority alone, we don’t see how another majority could take away what the majority wanted in the first place.. This idea of majority rules is a fallacy. That’s not what our country is about. It is about protecting the rights of everyone as all men are created equal. You shouldn’t be imposing your values on me.

Public Works and The Economy

Will Ramped Up Public Works Stimulate the Economy?

Yes, of course it will, that’s obvious. If you hire more people to build and repair roads and other infrastructure, more people will be earning money. Less people will be out of work. People will have more money to spend. It is blatantly obvious that it will stimulate the economy. Is that a good thing? Not always.

When an economy is on the brink of depression it is an excellent thing. So what is the problem? Is there a down side? Yes like eating too much ice cream, there is always a down side. Sure is good going down but then there is that bulge and if you don’t’ change your ways or partake in moderation, it may end up with a coma. I just love ice cream! Same holds true with government spending.

One congressman, that I saw, asked again, where’s the plan to turn this around. What are you going to do to fix it. How will you start making money? He went on to say that if they showed up at a bank with this type of information, the loan would probably be denied.

A Typical or Atypical Christian?

Christian Stereotypes

A few weeks ago, I watched some political satire on You Tube, it was good stuff. It was a bit condescending in tone. It was the elitist left we year so much about. There is a lot of WRONG, ideas that all of us born again Christians lean to the right. Jesus was way to the left of the political spectrum. I have been distressed by some on both the right and the left that seem to believe that all Christians hold positions like those of the Christian Coalition or the Moral Majority. I can assure you, all, nor even most think that way. Christianity is not about judging others, it is about loving them!
