When the elections where going this blog was booming. I love politics. I love to watch it and watch the power struggles and see how the chess game unfolds. It goes much further than government, it’s about civilization. I have a long history of being concerned about a majority imposing its will on the minority. An often unjust and short sighted will.

When we set a precedent by majority alone, we don’t see how another majority could take away what the majority wanted in the first place.. This idea of majority rules is a fallacy. That’s not what our country is about. It is about protecting the rights of everyone as all men are created equal. You shouldn’t be imposing your values on me.

Department of War, Gates Stays on

Robert Gates to Remain in Charge of Defense

Okay so we don’t call it that any more. It is now Department of Defense that sounds so much more peaceful. Really it does and perhaps a better name but here lately it seems to be Department of War would have been a better name. That’s the way the world sees us. They see us as the aggressor. Like it or not, that is the case.

The Wall Street Journal is reporting that Republican Robert Gates will stay on as Secretary of Defense. Well that is certainly reaching across the isle! The Huffington Post is not likely to be happy about it but I sure am.

Dear Mr. Obama

Dear Mr. Obama

Letter to Barack Obama

Dear Mr. Obama,

Please keep your promises. I voted for you and even sent money to your campaign because of one major reason. You don’t take PAC Money and you don’t take Corporate money. All that other money people sent you was a vote for you too.

A Typical or Atypical Christian?

A Typical or Atypical Christian?

Christian Stereotypes

A few weeks ago, I watched some political satire on You Tube, it was good stuff. It was a bit condescending in tone. It was the elitist left we year so much about. There is a lot of WRONG, ideas that all of us born again Christians lean to the right. Jesus was way to the left of the political spectrum. I have been distressed by some on both the right and the left that seem to believe that all Christians hold positions like those of the Christian Coalition or the Moral Majority. I can assure you, all, nor even most think that way. Christianity is not about judging others, it is about loving them!

China, The New Financial Leader of The World?

China is Enjoying Increased Prestige in the Financial World

The USA’s standing in the world is diminished. Though we may hate to admit it, it is true and we’ve earned it.

It appears we just launched a military attack into Syria this week to take out Al-Qaeda operatives. I believe it, we didn’t go in and launch million dollar missiles just to take out some farmers, at least not intentionally. We could have received bad intelligence from our torturing of political prisoners. But when Syria claims that we did attack civilians and that the USA couldn’t be believed. After all this is the same administration that told us that Saddam Hussein had WMD and was on the verge of obtaining a long range missile to deliver nuclear warheads and it was all a lie! It wasn’t a mistake, it was a lie!

Bush Pardons Himself!

This is outrageous. Bush is trying to pardon himself for the war crimes he has committed in office. For tossing out the Geneva Convention and pretending that water boarding is not torture even though we prosecuted people in Japan for using the same techniques.

Vote for a Black Man or Anti-Christ

I know so many racist that also think Republicans are are the anti-christ. Some are not even tongue-in-cheek!

What are they going to do this time? Hopefully some of them will finally make the change and realize the positions I’ve heard, that black people are just not able to think in the abstract. Yep, that’s what I’ve heard. I’ve heard worse and in Sunday School no less.
