Woke to a Dead Monitor

This morning, I awoke to a dead backlight on my Sony VAIO. Being a notebook that I bought in 2002, I suppose that’s not really a surprise. I have TV out and monitor out, I’m probably going to buy a new monitor and connect it to the external monitor connector. I tried to borrow Jessie’s but it comes up out of range and I do not remember how to force that to reset. I use to know how in Windows but I forgot. That wouldn’t do me a lot of good now since I’m using Ubuntu and I don’t plan on going back.

Changing to Ubuntu Linux

Ubuntu here I come! For the last few months I’ve been dealing with strange things going on with my laptop. Windows close by themselves. I call it the invisible hands of Microsoft! I think I’ve picked up a virus that is so obscure that none of the virus or spybot programs can detect it. It is probably a zombie, which is a program that allows people to steal your bandwidth. That slows your connection down. I don’t really know what is going on but whatever it is, its driving me nuts.
