Learning More about Web Development

I’ve been making some changes on the website and getting into some deeper HTML, XHTML, PHP and CSS than I have ever gone before. I’m not making a lot of progress with it and it is keeping me away from the most important part of any website, that is adding post to it.

In the long run, I will be far better off for it though. I’ll be able to better manipulate how m sites display the content. I need to add JavaScript to what I’m learning well.

I started learning HTML back in the day where there wasn’t much HTML to learn. There were not even tables in the first version. It was really hard to get context to display the way you want them too when there were no tables. All websites where setup where you started at the top and used ruler tags to break up one article from the next. Websites always went straight down. All websites looked like ever other website.

Then nested tables came in and made things really complex and JavaScript really made things look much better. And HTML is up to version 4 and it is going to be replaced by XHTML.

I have a couple broken things on the site now, but I’m still working on these “improvements.” As I learn more, I’ll be writing more tutorials myself. I learn more by writing about it than any other way. Those tutorials will be posted at http://www.geekslikeyou.com.
